Under the aegis of the Dénise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation, the first edition of the 100% women’s Gala evening took place recently at the Pullman Hotel in Kinshasa. This event brought together more than 500 women from different social strata, from inside and outside the country, with the aim of strengthening the bonds of sisterhood, solidarity and consolidating peace and love towards women. victims of armed conflicts in the eastern part of the DRC.
Chantal Yelu Mulop, coordinator of the specialized service of the Head of State in charge of youth and the fight against gender-based violence (GBV), expressed her voice in favor of Congolese women victims of discrimination and injustice and other forms of mistreatment caused by Rwanda’s war of aggression against the DRC under the cover of the M23. She affirmed that actions will be taken to influence the decisions of Congolese public authorities with the aim of defending this cause.
Kathy Massoulis, representative of the First Lady, called for the unity of women, emphasizing that there is strength in unity. She encouraged women to fight together to regain their dignity.
National MP Christelle Vuanga praised the bravery, excellence and efforts of Congolese women, highlighting their potential. She encouraged the initiative of the organizers of the 100% women’s Gala evening to allow all women to flourish.
This activity, organized by the Dénise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation, also aims to promote positive masculinity within Congolese society, to encourage exchanges between Congolese women from different sectors and foreign women living in the DRC, as well as to highlight ahead of women’s talents in various entrepreneurial fields.
This first edition of the 100% women’s Gala evening was therefore an opportunity to bring Congolese women together around values of solidarity, mutual support and the promotion of gender equality. Hopefully this event will continue to inspire women and contribute to building a more equitable and inclusive society.
