“South Kivu: Local authorities are working with the population to improve road accessibility and sustainable development in Bagira”

South Kivu: the mayor of Bagira, Patience Bengehya Wa Ngabo, recently met with the population of Mulambula and Cikera neighborhoods to discuss the issue of the road diversion in the Bwindi concession, property of the 5th Celpa/Bwindi community. All met to find a lasting solution, and a 1.6 km section has already been completed up to Lukera before the concession.

New Dynamics of Civil Society (NDSC) Secretary General Bagira said the people of Mulambula were ready to donate part of their land to lay out a road to facilitate the development of their entity. The provincial minister of town planning and housing invited the representatives of the Celpa community and the representatives of the population of Mulambula and Cikera to go, accompanied by the mayor of Bagira, to his office to find a solution to the situation, Thursday, May 11, 2023.

This meeting between the mayor and the population of the Mulambula and Cikera districts is part of a dynamic of sustainable development.
