“Global conflicts: a reflection on the ineffectiveness of the use of force to resolve crises”

Recent news is marked by a series of devastating conflicts across the world. In the Middle East, the region is once again plunged into a cycle of intense violence following the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel. The consequences of these clashes are disastrous, not only in terms of human lives lost, but also in terms of the trauma inflicted on an entire generation of children and young people growing up in an environment of war and hatred.

Unfortunately, this situation is not unique to the Middle East. In Africa too, several countries are facing war crimes, ethnic violence and massive population displacements. In Sudan, for example, the situation is alarming with thousands of deaths, ongoing ethnic cleansing and millions of displaced people. Children are the first victims of this situation, facing malnutrition and deadly diseases such as measles.

The central Sahel is another region of the world affected by armed violence. In Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger, the exaltation of war seems to take precedence over any attempt at a political solution to the crises. Military actions are favored to the detriment of dialogue and the search for lasting solutions to ensure peace and security.

This observation leads us to question the effectiveness of the use of force as a means of conflict resolution. Reclaiming territory may seem like a victory, but without deeper thinking about how to maintain peace, these efforts will be in vain. Strengthening military means is legitimate, but it is essential not to neglect the establishment of institutions and measures aimed at creating confidence and promoting peaceful coexistence.

In conclusion, the current situation in many parts of the world is alarming. The cycles of violence seem endless and the human consequences are devastating. It is imperative to promote a realistic and moderate approach, focused on the search for lasting solutions and the construction of peace, rather than favoring the exaltation of force. Only in this way can we hope for a better future for future generations, far from war and hatred.
