News in Bandundu: Arrest of twenty-eight urban bandits by the police
The town of Bandundu, in Kwilu province, was the scene of a police raid which resulted in the arrest of twenty-eight urban bandits, including two women. These individuals are the disciples of the famous highwayman nicknamed “Ferre”, who is still on the run.
The police managed to apprehend these criminals while they were in possession of bottles of alcoholic beverages already consumed. The women of the group are accused of complicity for having harbored the fugitive “Ferre”.
This arrest operation was welcomed by the provincial authorities and in particular the vice-governor of Kwilu, Félicien Kiway. According to him, the presence of the police on the streets of Bandundu during this electoral period allowed residents to move around in complete safety, even late at night. Mothers who go early in the morning to buy bread or do their business feel reassured, because they are no longer exposed to theft and attacks.
Tranquility has returned to the city thanks to the arrival of the new deputy divisional police commissioner, General Angel Yangbonga Kazonga. In less than a month, several criminal gangs were dismantled, thus contributing to the restoration of order and security in the region.
This arrest highlights the effective work of the police to ensure the safety of citizens and guarantee an environment conducive to the economic and social development of the city of Bandundu. The authorities strongly encourage the police service and will continue to support their actions to maintain peace and security in the region.
