Adolphe Muzito, President of the political party Nouvel Élan, officially ran for the presidential election scheduled for December 2023. He submitted his file to the Office of Reception and Processing of Candidatures (BRTC) of the Electoral Center, thus marking his commitment to lead the Congo on the path of construction and development.
During his interview with the President of the CENI, Adolphe Muzito underlined his desire to liberate the Congo on all levels: political, diplomatic, economic and social. Its objective is to enable the Congolese to live in normal conditions, in particular by offering educational opportunities, adequate housing and decently paid jobs.
Asked about a possible single opposition candidacy, Adolphe Muzito was reserved, stressing that he prefers to deploy his own program as a presidential candidate. He plans to work in collaboration with the deputy candidates of his party in order to develop a government program and build a coherent political vision. Before and after the elections, he is ready to discuss with other political actors to find plausible syntheses.
Adolphe Muzito thus joins the list of six presidential candidates, including Augustin Matata Ponyo and Franck Diongo. While the electoral campaign will soon be in full swing, it remains to be seen how these different candidates will present their programs and what possible coalitions or convergences will be within the opposition.
Ultimately, Adolphe Muzito’s candidacy demonstrates his determination to bring positive change to Congo and to work for sustainable and equitable development. The coming months will therefore be crucial to evaluate the different proposals and visions of the candidates and to determine what political future is emerging for the country.
