“Work mission of the Director General of the Central Coordination Office in Kasai Central: rigorous monitoring of the local development program projects”

The director general of the Central Coordination Office, Jean Mabi Mulumba, recently visited the Kasai Central province to supervise the various projects undertaken as part of the local development program. This visit aimed to ensure that the work is progressing according to schedule and respecting established quality standards.

The first step of this mission was the visit to the administrative building of the Dibaya Territory. This project, entrusted to SMEs, began in April 2023 and is already well advanced. The general manager carefully inspected the work to ensure compliance with the specifications. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Jean Mabi also raised awareness among the local population of the importance of the local development program and its impact on the development of the region.

On the second day of the mission, the delegation went to the morgue of the Kananga provincial general referral hospital. The construction work on this new morgue is well underway, arousing the satisfaction of the local population who expressed their gratitude to the Head of State for this achievement.

The visit continued with the inspection of the urban roads of Kananga, including arteries such as Bakwa Bisamba Avenue, Dibindji Avenue and Nkonko Avenue. Work to stabilize the road and build water evacuation channels is progressing at a steady pace, helping to prevent the erosion problems that threatened the city. To date, more than 70% of the work has been completed.

The local development program not only concerned infrastructure, but also public services. Thus, the Muana Bute primary school and the Matamba health center, located in the Kazumba territory, were also visited by the delegation from the Central Coordination Office.

To end this mission, the delegation went to the Kananga-Kalamba Mbuji road, where the road widening work is progressing well. This road is of capital importance, because it opens up the provinces of Kasai Central, Oriental, Sankuru and Kwilu, as well as the province of Lualaba, ensuring connection to southern Africa and even to other continents via the port of Lobito in Angola. To date, 92 kilometers of the track have already been opened, and other teams are working on stabilizing and compacting the already opened track.

This work mission of the Director General of the Central Coordination Office demonstrates his commitment and his desire to ensure the smooth running of the local development program. Thanks to this rigorous monitoring of construction sites, it is ensured that the projects will be delivered on time, thus contributing to the development and improvement of the living conditions of local populations in the Kasai Central province.
