“Félix Tshisekedi, President of the DRC, participates in GABI and promotes sustainable economic growth in Africa”

Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, recently participated in the Global Africa Business Initiative (GABI) which was held in New York. This conference aimed to promote sustainable economic growth in Africa.

As guest of honor, President Tshisekedi took part in a special panel focused on investment opportunities in Africa and the role of the DRC in the global energy transition. He highlighted his vision to transform the country’s natural resources, particularly copper, cobalt, lithium and manganese, into a local value chain.

President Tshisekedi also mentioned a project to build a battery production factory for electric vehicles in collaboration with Zambia and financial and technological support from the United States. He invited investors to come to the DRC and support this industrial vision.

On the sidelines of the conference, President Tshisekedi met with entrepreneurs and key players involved in the valorization of the country’s strategic minerals, such as Delfos, a fundraising and investment platform in energy, and Buenassa, a company specializing in metals trading.

The Minister of Industry, Julien Paluku, as well as representatives of the Congolese Battery Council, the General Cobalt Company and the Presidential Strategic Watch Council were also present alongside President Tshisekedi.

This participation of President Tshisekedi in the Global Africa Business Initiative demonstrates the DRC’s commitment to attracting investments and promoting sustainable economic growth. The construction of a local economy based on the transformation of the country’s natural resources opens new perspectives for the industrial development of the DRC and the creation of jobs.

The presence of the DRC on the international scene and its desire to actively participate in the global energy transition are encouraging signs for the future of the country. Investments in key sectors such as renewable energy and battery production will contribute to economic growth and wealth creation in the DRC.

President Tshisekedi thus continues to position the DRC as a key player for investments in Africa and for the promotion of sustainable development on the continent.
