“Marathon towards victory: Moïse Katumbi’s opposition party launches a campaign for responsible voting and denounces political maneuvering in the DRC”

The political party Ensemble pour la République of Moïse Katumbi recently launched a civic and electoral education campaign entitled “Marathon towards victory”. This initiative aims to inform and raise awareness among the Congolese population on the importance of responsible voting during the next national presidential and legislative elections, which will take place in 90 days.

The objective of this campaign is to promote a useful vote that will provide the Democratic Republic of Congo with solid institutions capable of driving the long-awaited change. By educating voters, Moïse Katumbi’s party wishes to encourage active and informed citizen participation.

However, Moïse Katumbi’s party also denounces the continued state of siege in certain provinces of the DRC. According to Gratien Iracan, executive of the Ensemble pour la République party, this decision could be a strategy aimed at excluding the provinces of North Kivu and Ituri, thus reducing the electorate in the east of the country. He also requests the urgent summons of the Prime Minister to the National Assembly to respond to the inquiry into the Goma massacre perpetrated by the police last August.

This civic and electoral education campaign by Moïse Katumbi’s Ensemble pour la République party therefore aims to inform the Congolese population about the importance of responsible voting and to denounce possible political maneuvers aimed at disrupting the electoral process. By encouraging citizen participation and raising voter awareness, the party hopes to contribute to the advent of positive change for the DRC.
