“Public disorder in Lubumbashi: a threat to the future of youth”

Disturbances to public order caused by young people disrupting economic activities in Lubumbashi have recently raised serious concerns. The president of the National Alliance of Kyunguist Federalists (ANAFEK), Lawrence Lolo Kyungu Kibwe, expressed his concern over the persistence of these problems and the lack of an adequate response from local authorities.

In a statement to ACTUALITÉ.CD, Lolo Kyungu Kibwe denounced the indifference of the local authority to these disturbances to public order. According to him, the authority in Lubumbashi is almost not involved in resolving this problem, which contributes to a total lack of fear of authority among young people. Some young people, according to him, are no longer afraid of going to prison and use this threat as a way to escape their responsibilities, which creates a breakdown in trust between the population and the authority.

Lolo Kyungu Kibwe goes further by accusing certain politicians of hiding behind these young people to serve their personal interests. He points out that this class of people takes advantage of the ignorance of young people and manipulates them to achieve their own goals, thus leaving the youth and their future trapped in their schemes.

For several weeks, the city of Lubumbashi, in particular certain neighborhoods such as the commune of Kenya and the Kalebuka district, have been facing public disorder caused by these young people. Security measures were taken and some young people were arrested and brought to justice.

It is important that local authorities take firm measures to restore order and restore public confidence. It is also essential to understand the root causes of these disturbances to public order, in particular by calling on experts and working on lasting solutions.

It is also up to young people to become aware of their situation and take control of their own destiny. They must break free from the influence of those who seek to use them for personal gain and chart their own path to a better future.

It is essential to emphasize that resolving this problem can only be done by mobilizing the whole of society, by involving the population, the authorities and civil society actors. By working together, it will be possible to put an end to these disturbances to public order and create an environment conducive to the economic and social development of Lubumbashi.

It is therefore essential that everyone takes responsibility and actively engages in the search for solutions to overcome these challenges and guarantee a better future for all. The time has come to end impunity and build a future where authority is respected and youth are guided towards the path to success.
