Title: “Marathon towards victory: Together for the Republic launches an electoral campaign to promote a useful vote and educate the Congolese population”
In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the political party Ensemble pour la République led by Moïse Katumbi recently launched a civic and electoral education campaign called “Marathon towards victory”. This initiative aims to raise awareness and educate the Congolese population on the importance of a useful vote during the next national presidential and legislative elections, which will take place in 90 days.
The objective of this campaign is to provide the DRC with strong institutions capable of bringing the change long awaited by the population. By encouraging thoughtful and informed voting, the Ensemble pour la République party wishes to enable voters to make informed choices and thus contribute to building a better future for the country.
However, the party did not fail to denounce the continued state of siege in certain parts of the country. According to Gratien Iracan, party executive and national deputy, this measure could be a strategy aimed at excluding the provinces of North Kivu and Ituri from the electoral process, thus significantly reducing the electorate in the east of the country. He also insists on the need to urgently summon the Prime Minister to the National Assembly in order to respond to his questioning on the “Goma massacre” which occurred on August 30.
This awareness and civic education campaign is essential in a country where the electoral process is of capital importance for its democratic development. It offers the population a unique opportunity to understand political issues and take an active part in building a more prosperous and equitable future.
By launching this campaign, the Ensemble pour la République party demonstrates its commitment to an electoral process that is transparent, inclusive and respectful of the rights of every Congolese citizen. By educating the population on the importance of thoughtful voting, this initiative helps strengthen democracy and promote citizen participation.
With only 90 days remaining before the presidential and legislative elections, the “Marathon to Victory” promises to be a major event in the country’s political agenda. It remains to be hoped that this campaign will enlighten Congolese voters and encourage responsible voting which will guarantee a better future for the DRC.
