Air Congo’s business plan was recently presented at a meeting of the Council of Ministers, marking an important step in the creation of the new airline in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This details the different steps to follow over a period of 157 days, ranging from the creation of the company to the process of obtaining the air transport certificate. Although the official launch date has not yet been announced, this presentation marks a significant step forward in the realization of the Air Congo project.
This project is carried out in partnership with Ethiopian Airlines, a renowned airline. As part of this joint venture, Ethiopian Airlines will undertake to provide the Democratic Republic of Congo with at least 7 aircraft. This acquisition follows a memorandum of understanding signed in September 2021 in Addis Ababa between the Congolese authorities and Ethiopian Airlines. This partnership will be a joint venture with a 51% participation of Congolese capital, thus demonstrating the commitment of the Congolese government to the development of this new airline.
