Title: Latest news: Construction of the new Kananga morgue is progressing rapidly
Introduction :
The Central Coordination Office (BCECO) recently carried out an inspection of the construction works of the new Kananga morgue, in the Kasai-Central province. This project is part of the presidential emergency program aimed at building and rehabilitating basic social infrastructure in the town of Kananga. Carried out by the SAFRIMEX company, this work meets the expectations expressed by the local population during President Félix Tshisekedi’s tour in December 2021. With an embalming room, around fifty refrigerators and a funeral store, this new morgue will offer modern facilities for the preservation of bodies. In addition, it will run on solar energy thanks to around 280 solar panels, supplemented by boreholes to guarantee a regular water supply. In this article, we will present in detail the progress of the construction of this important infrastructure for the city of Kananga.
Progress of work:
Construction work on the new Kananga morgue began last February and is currently in the finishing phase. The BCECO team, led by J, noted with satisfaction the rapid progress of the work during its inspection. The governor of the province, John Kabeya, was also satisfied with the quality and efficiency of the work carried out by the SAFRIMEX company. The new morgue, which replaces the old morgue equipped with nine mortuary refrigerators dating from the colonial era, will meet the growing needs of the population of Kananga in terms of body conservation.
Modern facilities for optimal conservation:
The new Kananga morgue will be equipped with all the necessary facilities for optimal preservation of bodies. In addition to an embalming room, it will have around fifty funeral refrigerators and a funeral store. These facilities will allow the bodies to be preserved effectively, thus guaranteeing the respect and dignity of the deceased.
An ecological morgue running on solar energy:
An innovative aspect of the new Kananga morgue is its operation with solar energy. Indeed, around 280 solar panels will be installed to power the infrastructure, in addition to the regular water supply provided by REGIDESO. This environmentally friendly approach will help reduce the morgue’s carbon footprint and promote renewable energy.
Conclusion :
The construction of the new Kananga morgue is progressing rapidly, providing the local population with modern and efficient facilities for the preservation of bodies.. Thanks to the efforts of BCECO and the SAFRIMEX company, this infrastructure will meet the expectations expressed by the population during President Félix Tshisekedi’s tour. In addition, its operation on solar energy makes it an example of the adoption of renewable energies in the context of infrastructure construction. Once completed, the new Kananga mortuary will help strengthen health services and ensure respect and dignity for the deceased in the region.
