“The Réveil Church of Congo launches a body of chaplains for a spiritual presence in all areas of society”

The rise of the Eglise du Réveil in the Congo continues with the establishment of a corps of chaplains. After the Catholic, Protestant and Kimbanguist Churches, the Eglise du Réveil has also decided to have chaplains attached to various establishments such as hospitals, prisons, military camps, schools and universities. Under the leadership of Bishop Israel Dodo Kamba, president of the Eglise du Réveil du Congo, training was organized for the pastors who will become the first chaplains of this Church.

What distinguishes the chaplains of the Church of the Réveil from others is their presence in several sectors, such as the spiritual guidance of the authorities of the country, including the leaders of the Executive, the Legislative, the Judiciary and public administration. In addition, there will also be consular chaplains to spiritually care for Congolese in the diaspora, wherever they are.

The training of future chaplains focused on the theme of patriotism, in order to prepare them for their mission. Bishop Moïse Tshibumbu, secretary general of the Eglise du Réveil du Congo, underlined the importance of the Congo Basin in the eyes of God, referring to biblical passages that highlight the region. He also spoke of the role that the Congo can play in the restoration of Israel, the restoration of Jerusalem as its capital and the reconstruction of Solomon’s temple.

This initiative of the Eglise du Réveil shows its willingness to get involved in all aspects of society, by providing spiritual guidance in different areas. The new chaplains will play a key role in promoting patriotic values and in the spiritual support of authorities and Congolese around the world.

The Eglise du Réveil du Congo thus continues its growth and its contribution to the spirituality and well-being of the Congolese people.
