Title: The atrocities perpetrated by ADF terrorists in Mutuwey: a tragedy that raises serious concerns

Introduction:
Last week, the Mutuwey region in the Walese Vonkutu chiefdom in Ituri was the scene of an unthinkable atrocity. Terrorists from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) summarily executed twenty-one people, sparking growing outrage and concern. This act of violence once again highlights the urgency of fighting terrorism and protecting the civilian population.

Context of executions:
According to information provided by local human rights organizations, the victims were hostages kidnapped in Eringeti in North Kivu, on the border with the Luna trading center in Ituri. They were taken to the bush by their captors before being coldly executed in Mutuwey. The Convention for the Respect of Human Rights (CRDH) said that seventeen bodies were buried there, while three others were repatriated to Eringeti to be buried by their families.

The urgency of reinforced action:
Faced with this tragedy, the CRDH welcomed the “Shujaa” operations carried out in the region, which caused terrorists to flee towards the East. However, the civil society organization is making an urgent appeal for these operations to continue and extend westwards in order to track down the ADF in their hiding places. The security of the civilian population is at stake, and it is imperative to put an end to the impunity enjoyed by these terrorist groups.

Mobilization against terrorism:
The CRDH also called on the civilian population to avoid areas where the enemy has entrenched itself, in order to prevent new tragedies. The mobilization of all the actors concerned, both on the side of the security forces and the citizens, is essential to dismantle these terrorist groups and guarantee the safety of all.

Conclusion:
The summary executions carried out by ADF terrorists in Mutuwey are a shocking tragedy that serves as a reminder of the urgent need to fight terrorism in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The authorities and the international community must redouble their efforts to neutralize these armed groups and protect the civilian population. The situation demands concrete measures and coordinated action to end impunity and restore peace and security in the Ituri region
