**Title: The tragedy of the displaced in Popokabaka, Kwango: Call for help in the face of attacks by the Mobondo militia**
In the heart of the province of Kwango, in the city of Popokabaka, a desperate situation is looming for 10,346 displaced people, including 2,870 children, victims of recent attacks by the Mobondo militia. These people, forced to flee their villages, find themselves in total distress, living in precarious conditions without any form of assistance.
The recent report of the Program for Development and Disease Control (PRODELMA) plunges us into the heart of the horror experienced by these displaced people. The attacks perpetrated between December 6 and 12 left behind a heartbreaking toll: 150 homes burned, 5 bridges destroyed and entire populations looted of their belongings.
The figures cited by the NGO PRODELMA are alarming: 117 injured, 170 dead since the beginning of the atrocities perpetrated by the Mobondo militia in the Kwango province. Behind these figures lie human tragedies, broken stories and lost lives.
Symphorien Kwengo, president of the civil society organization, sounds the alarm: the displaced are facing urgent humanitarian needs, ranging from shelter to food to medical care. For the time being, no assistance has been provided to these vulnerable people, thus plunging thousands of lives into immeasurable distress.
Faced with this critical situation, an urgent appeal is launched to the national authorities and humanitarian NGOs for an immediate deployment of relief. It is imperative to act quickly to alleviate the suffering of these displaced people and offer them a safety net in this turmoil.
The international community cannot remain indifferent to this tragedy unfolding in Popokabaka, Kwango. It is the duty of all of us to reach out to these innocent victims, to offer them the hope and support they desperately need. Let us not allow distress and abandonment to be the daily lot of thousands of people in search of peace and dignity.
