The Electoral Observation Mission (MOE) Regard Citoyen deployed its lookouts there to scrutinize and assess the smooth running of the operations of the national and provincial legislative elections. At the end of this large-scale mission, eloquent conclusions emerged, revealing a general satisfaction with the conduct of these electoral contests.
The careful observation of 163 reports from the MOE observers revealed a relatively peaceful campaign climate, despite some reported hotbeds of tension, particularly in Yakoma, in North Ubangi. An encouraging observation was made, highlighting the absence of hate speech or incitement to violence, whether in Masi-Manimba or Yakoma. This atmosphere conveying respect and tolerance was welcomed, while deploring certain breaches of the voting rules noted in these two constituencies.
The MOE Regard Citoyen welcomed the inclusion of women in the polling stations, thus emphasizing the importance of representativeness and diversity in these decision-making bodies. Nevertheless, violations of the right to vote were reported, calling for increased vigilance to guarantee the integrity of the electoral process.
