The Democratic Republic of Congo is embarking on a new era of development with the National Strategic Development Plan 2024-2028, an ambitious project supported by the Congolese government and United Nations agencies. This plan is based on five essential pillars, including the development of human capital, the promotion of good governance, the diversification of the economy, the modernization of infrastructure and sustainable development. By engaging in this initiative, the DRC aims for a sustainable and inclusive transformation that will benefit its entire population and pave the way for a promising future.
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is entering a new phase of its development with the implementation of the National Strategic Development Plan (PNSD) 2024-2028, an ambitious project that aims to guide the country towards sustainable socio-economic transformation. This plan, the result of a partnership between the Congolese Government and the agencies of the United Nations System, is based on five essential strategic pillars to address the structural challenges facing the country.

First, the development of human capital is placed at the heart of priorities, with a strong emphasis on education, health and cultural development. By strengthening the skills of its population, the DRC hopes to create favorable conditions for sustained and inclusive growth. In addition, the promotion of good governance and peace is essential to restore the authority of the State and foster a climate conducive to investment, which are essential elements for economic growth.

Two other pillars of the PNSD aim to diversify the Congolese economy by transforming key sectors, in order to reduce dependence on raw material exports, and to modernize infrastructure and digital technologies to boost connectivity and productivity. Finally, the plan emphasizes sustainable development, promoting environmental protection and the fight against climate change as levers for balanced and sustainable growth.

This initiative, supported by both national and international actors, demonstrates the DRC’s desire to embark on a path of sustainable and inclusive development that will benefit its entire population. By developing its human and natural resources, the country intends to respond to current challenges while aspiring to a better future for its citizens.

Thus, the National Strategic Development Plan 2024-2028 represents an ambitious and realistic framework for the socio-economic transformation of the DRC. By aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals and seeking to attract international partnerships, the country is paving the way for a promising future, where economic progress is accompanied by a significant improvement in the well-being of its population.
