*Fatshimetrie: RTNC employees maintain pressure on the government*
After five weeks of waiting, employees and executives of the Congolese National Radio and Television (RTNC) have once again expressed their discontent by organizing a sit-in in front of the Prime Minister’s office in Kinshasa. This action, orchestrated on Thursday, November 7, aimed to remind the government of its promise to pay a 25% supplement to their special motivation bonus and to regularize the bonus due to the license fee income.
During an interview with Radio Okapi, Christian Kadifuako, president of the RTNC national union delegation, clarified the staff’s demands. He highlighted their expectation regarding the payment of the 25% salary supplement, as well as the license fee income bonus. Despite an exchange with the Prime Minister’s office, the employees expressed their disappointment at the government’s lack of willingness to resolve their demands.
Christian Kadifuako highlighted the government’s failure to respect its commitments, pointing out the lack of a call for a tripartite meeting. This situation prompted the union delegation to return to the Prime Minister’s Office to continue asserting their legitimate rights. The lack of concrete results following the exchange with members of the Prime Minister’s office strengthened the determination of RTNC employees.
The president of the union delegation expressed his concerns about the government’s attitude, which he perceives as indifferent to the legitimate concerns of RTNC employees. He raised the possibility of starting a strike process if the demands are not taken into account, going so far as to consider a collective work stoppage.
In addition to the issues of salaries and bonuses, RTNC employees also want to obtain clarification on the traceability of their monthly contributions to the National Social Security Fund (CNSS). This request echoes a broader concern regarding the transparency and management of funds intended for the well-being of employees of the national channel.
By maintaining pressure on the government, RTNC agents illustrate their determination to defend their rights and obtain recognition for their contribution to the proper functioning of the institution. Their mobilization reflects a strong commitment to social justice and equity within the public company.
