The Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2024 was a global event, attracting nearly 55,000 runners from 84 countries. Winners such as Soh Rui Yong and Rachel See shone in the marathon categories, while Geoffrey Yegon and Fantu Zewude Jifar won the elite Gold Label marathon. The Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2024 brought together nearly 55,000 runners from around the world to take part in the iconic event. Held over three days, the marathon featured five race categories, including the return of the Ekiden relay.

This year’s edition saw a significant increase in international runner participation, with nearly 13,000 participants from 84 countries, an increase of nearly 33 per cent from the previous year. This demonstrates the event’s growing global appeal and reinforces its international reputation.

The big winners of this year’s edition were Soh Rui Yong and Rachel See, who were crowned the men’s and women’s marathon champions respectively. In the half marathon, Shaun Goh and Vanessa Lee crossed the finish line first in their respective divisions.

The event concluded at the famous Anderson Bridge, providing runners with an unforgettable experience and fresh courses, raising the bar for endurance running in the region. With the support of Standard Chartered, this World Athletics Gold Label race attracted participants from all over the world, truly uniting runners from different backgrounds.

In the elite Gold Label marathon category, Geoffrey Yegon from Kenya took the men’s victory with a time of 02.16.06. In the women’s category, Fantu Zewude Jifar from Ethiopia won with a time of 02.39.04.
