The deployment of a partnership dynamic between Kamoa Copper SA and the Government of Zambia was highlighted during the official visit of the Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development of Zambia, Engineer Charles Milupi, to the company’s sites on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Accompanied by Her Excellency the Governor of Lualaba, Mrs. Fifi Masuka Saini, as well as the Provincial Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Moise Mukepe Kahilu, this delegation was able to discover the scale of the activities of Kamoa Copper, a major player in mining exports in the region.
The visit was part of the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo for the construction of the Kolwezi-Lumwana road, a key infrastructure for economic development and trade between the two countries. As a potential strategic player in this road, Kamoa Copper was at the heart of discussions and attention of Zambian and Congolese officials.
During their visit, the eminent guests were able to discover Kamoa Copper’s mining facilities, including the Kakula underground mine and the Phase 3 infrastructure. They also learned about the community projects implemented by the company, thus demonstrating its commitment to the socio-economic development of local and regional populations.
The Governor of Lualaba expressed her pride in the progress and positive impact of Kamoa Copper on the province, highlighting the excellence and vision of this company in the mining sector.
