Behind the scenes of the administration, a massive employee verification exercise is underway within the Fatshimetrie Office of the State Ministries, Departments and Agencies. The initiative is aimed at ensuring the integrity of the state workforce by ensuring that employee information is current and accurate. Over 20,000 employee records have already been reviewed under the process, but about 10,099 workers remain unverified due to incomplete records from MDAs.
The State Head of Service, Hamidu M. Alhaji, disclosed that out of the 30,862 civil servants in the state, 20,763 have been successfully verified so far. He stressed the critical importance of the verification process in ensuring the integrity of the state workforce, and said efforts will continue to verify all employees.
However, delays are being experienced due to missing employee records from various MDAs. Despite these hurdles, Alhaji stressed the state’s firm commitment to weeding out bogus employees and maintaining an accurate personnel database.
The State Commissioner for Finance, Muhammad Abatcha Geidam, warned that civil servants who fail to complete the verification process will not be paid their salaries. He said gaps in the workforce will not be tolerated and those who fail to comply with the verification process will not be paid.
This thorough verification of employees demonstrates Fatshimetrie State’s commitment to ensuring transparency and efficiency in its workforce. Ultimately, this initiative will help to build public confidence in the administration and ensure effective management of the state’s human resources.
