Tribute to the rector of the University Simon Kimbangu: The last farewell to Blaise Muya, a great man of science and academic commitment

The latest news brings us news regarding the passing of the Rector of Simon Kimbangu University, Professor Blaise Muya. After a brief illness, he left us last Tuesday, leaving behind him an impressive academic career and a valuable scientific legacy. According to a statement from the family, the funeral of Blaise Muya will take place on August 24 at the cemetery of the city of N’Kamba, in the province of Kongo Central. Before that, a wake is scheduled for August 21 on the site of Simon Kimbangu University, located in the commune of Kalamu. The following day, the body of the deceased will be lifted from the morgue of the Hôpital du Cinquantenaire to be transported to the Simon Kimbangu University.

A special ceremony will also be organized at the University of Kinshasa on August 23, where Blaise Muya will receive the honors due to his rank of professor. Finally, on August 24, he will be buried in N’Kamba, thus putting an end to his exceptional journey.

Beyond his death, the scientific heritage of Blaise Muya is an undeniable element of his existence. One of his works on the symbolism of the day of April 6, in tribute to the fight of Simon Kimbangu and to the African conscience, testifies to his commitment and his contribution to the academic world.
