The sports sector in Egypt is currently experiencing remarkable growth, illustrating the government’s commitment to this industry. The importance given to this field is highlighted through the adoption of strategies and policies aimed at strengthening it, as highlighted by the Information and Decision Center (IDSC).
A recent report published by the IDSC mentions the significant improvement observed in the sports sector in recent years. This progress is attributed in part to the modernization of sports infrastructure, aligned with ongoing development projects.
The state’s efforts to promote the sports sector are reflected in particular in a significant investment in the development of sports infrastructure. In 2023, the total cost of this work amounted to approximately 416.49 million Egyptian pounds. The report also states that the cost of sports equipment and facilities reached approximately 117.98 million Egyptian pounds in 2023, compared to 43.26 million in 2022.
This increase in investment in sports infrastructure is a testament to the Egyptian government’s continued commitment to supporting and promoting the sports sector. By upgrading existing facilities and investing in new equipment, Egypt is positioning itself as a major player in the field of sports, providing its citizens with quality spaces and infrastructure to practice a variety of sports activities.
The future of the sports sector in Egypt looks bright, and these initiatives to strengthen sports infrastructure will not only help promote a healthy and active lifestyle, but also boost the local economy by generating jobs and attracting more investment in this growing field.
