In the troubled region of eastern DRC, a new attack shook the population this past weekend. The Congolese armed forces (FARDC) were the target of a violent attack carried out by rebel elements in Bango, on the Eringeti-Kainama axis. Faced with this escalation of violence, the Congolese armed forces responded by deploying joint reinforcements with Ugandan forces (UPDF) to repel the attackers. This attack comes in a context of growing tensions, with worrying signals from farmers about the movements of the ADF in the region. It is imperative that local and national authorities step up their action to ensure the security of the populations and guarantee the stability of the region.
