Fatshimetrie is at the heart of a case that is shaking the provincial secretariat of the Ministry of the Interior in Kinshasa. More than 100 agents have been unfairly removed from the civil service payrolls since last October, triggering an unprecedented protest movement. On Friday, November 22, these agents, victims of wild pruning, organized a sit-in in front of the premises of the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) in the commune of Gombe, expressing their fed-upness and their desire to assert their rights.

Faced with the injustice and passivity of the authorities, the demonstrators denounced the replacement of their names by fictitious agents, highlighting a disturbing opacity in the management of human resources within the administration. The aggrieved agents are demanding not only the reinstatement of the payrolls, but also an in-depth investigation by the IGF to shed light on these dubious practices.

David Luyeye, union president of the Union of Civil Servants and Career Agents of the Public Administration, spokesperson for the protesters, stressed the need for recognition for deserving agents: “The government grants specific bonuses to dedicated agents, but many of us are deprived of these legitimate benefits. It is time for light to be shed on these injustices and for everyone to receive the recognition and remuneration they are due.”

The determination of the pruned agents materialized around a delegation received by the representative of the Inspector General of Finance, bringing with them a memorandum detailing their legitimate demands. This collective action marks an important step in the fight for transparency and fairness within the Congolese public administration.

Through this protest movement, the agents of the provincial secretariat of the Ministry of the Interior in Kinshasa are making their voices heard, refusing to remain silent in the face of injustices and irregularities. Their fight for truth and recognition of their work is a vibrant call for more responsible and equitable management of human resources within the State.

Fatshimetrie thus finds itself at the center of a crucial debate on integrity and justice within the administration, revealing flaws that must be corrected to ensure respect for workers’ rights and the efficiency of public services.
