Fatshimetrie: A promising partnership between the DRC and Egyptian entrepreneurs

There are meetings that open doors to a bright future, exchanges that raise hopes for a fruitful collaboration. This is precisely what seemed to mean the discussion between the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Economy of the DRC, and a consortium of Egyptian entrepreneurs, called “Egyptian African Arab Co. for Development” (EGAAD). This meeting, marked by cordiality and a desire for cooperation, took place in the office of the VPM on Thursday, November 21.

In a world where competitiveness and innovation are major issues, Africa must position itself as a key player in its own development. It is with this in mind that the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the time has come for Africans to no longer look elsewhere. A meaningful statement, emphasizing the importance of intra-African cooperation and mutual trust between the nations of the continent.

President Félix Tshisekedi himself attaches great importance to the collaboration between Egypt and the DRC, aware of the opportunities that this union can offer for the economic development of both countries. In this perspective, the Congolese government is committed to improving the business climate, an essential guarantee to attract foreign investors and foster the emergence of sustainable partnerships.

Egyptian entrepreneurs, represented by Réda Boulos, head of the EGAAD delegation, expressed their interest in several key sectors of the Congolese economy, such as energy, agri-food and infrastructure construction. Their willingness to invest in the DRC is accompanied by a responsible approach aimed at promoting the transfer of technologies and favoring local employment.

To facilitate and supervise these projects, the Deputy Prime Minister announced his intention to set up a consultation structure in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This initiative will allow for optimal management of projects undertaken within the framework of cooperation between Egypt and the DRC, thus ensuring effective coordination and positive outcomes for both parties.

In short, the discussion between the Congolese government and Egyptian entrepreneurs paves the way for a promising partnership, based on trust, mutual respect and the search for the common good. This approach demonstrates the willingness of African economic actors to take charge of their own destiny and build a prosperous and united future for the entire continent.
