Local development program in the DRC: between 300 and 400 books ready for delivery

As part of the local development program for 145 territories (PDL-145 T) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), between 300 and 400 works have already been completed and are ready for delivery. This was announced by the Minister of Communication and Media, Patrick Muyaya, after a meeting of the program’s Steering Committee.

This meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, made it possible to assess the progress of basic infrastructure works in the territories concerned by the program. Despite certain difficulties encountered, particularly in certain territories in the east of the country, all the agencies managed to launch the work. Thus, more than 300 to 400 structures are already ready, including schools, health centers and administrative buildings.

The government welcomes these significant advances and plans to schedule inaugurations soon to mark the start of the delivery phase of the works. At the same time, other components of the program will continue to be put in place.

Several members of the central government took part in this assessment meeting, in particular the Minister of State in charge of Planning, the Deputy Minister of the Budget and Regional Planning, as well as the Ministers of Finance, Health, Vocational Training and Water Resources. Their presence testifies to the importance attached to this local development program which aims to improve the living conditions of populations throughout the country.

The PDL-145 T is an essential step in the implementation of development policies in the DRC. By emphasizing basic infrastructure, it contributes to strengthening access to education, health and administrative services for Congolese citizens.

This program illustrates the government’s desire to promote balanced development throughout the territory, ensuring that all regions benefit from the same opportunities for growth and prosperity
