Fatshimetrie, October 31, 2024 – Fatshimetrie, one of the largest online media in the Democratic Republic of Congo, recently highlighted a crucial plea for the implementation of the one-stop shop for building permits throughout the province of Haut-Katanga. This initiative was welcomed by the Provincial Assembly, marking a significant step towards greater efficiency in the issuance of building permits.

Kennedy Pierre Mukendi Mukepesha, Director General of the Department responsible for the issuance of building permits, welcomed the approval of the President of the Provincial Assembly in favor of this proposal. According to him, the installation of the one-stop shop for building permits will simplify and speed up the process for applicants. From now on, the one-stop shop will be the only entity authorized to issue these precious authorizations, in accordance with the institutional reform put in place by the President of the Republic.

This reform aims to centralize and streamline the management of building permits, thus eliminating fragmented procedures and possible cases of corruption. Mr. Mukendi stressed the importance for the population to exclusively address the one-stop shop for all applications relating to building permits, thus avoiding the confusion and delays inherent in a dispersed system.

Calling for greater transparency and efficiency in the issuance of building permits, the Director General stressed that this measure will benefit all types of projects, whether residential housing, social or industrial infrastructure. This move also aims to put an end to obsolete and outdated practices, by encouraging a more modern and professional approach to urban planning and construction.

In conclusion, the installation of the one-stop shop for building permits throughout the Haut-Katanga province marks a crucial step towards more efficient and transparent governance in this key area of urban development. This unified approach promises to bring tangible benefits to both permit applicants and the community at large, by ensuring simplified, rapid and standard-compliant processes. It is a step towards a future where urban planning and construction are governed by standards of quality and integrity, for the well-being of all.
