The fight against corruption in the Democratic Republic of Congo remains a major challenge for the country’s development. It is with this in mind that the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) is actively involved, involving all social strata, in the fight against this scourge.
At a conference organized by the Higher Institute of Commerce in Kinshasa, the head of the IGF, Jules Alingete Key, took the floor to discuss the threats and opportunities in the fight against corruption in the DRC, highlighting the role of digitalization in this fight, and more specifically in academia.
Corruption, present in different forms in Congolese society, is a real obstacle to development. It negatively impacts the economy and prevents innovation and growth. This is why it is essential to find effective solutions to eradicate it.
The Director General of the ISC, Professor NYONSABA SEBIGUNDA Edson, proposed the use of mobile banking via the OPTsolution application as one of the solutions to fight against corruption in academia. This digitization makes it possible to reduce cash transactions and ensure traceability of financial flows, thus limiting the possibilities of misappropriation.
Jules Alingete Key, meanwhile, insisted on the importance of taking the fight against corruption seriously, stressing the harmful consequences of this scourge on the country’s development. He also underlined the role of the IGF in this fight and the importance of sensitizing the entire Congolese population to this problem.
For several years, the IGF has been resolutely committed to the fight against corruption in the DRC, with the aim of restoring the country’s image and promoting good governance. This conference organized at the ISC testifies to this desire to raise awareness and involve all stakeholders in this essential struggle for the future of the DRC.
In conclusion, the fight against corruption in the Democratic Republic of Congo is a major challenge for the development of the country. Digitization, especially in academia, appears to be a promising solution to limit the possibilities of corruption. The IGF, in collaboration with the ISC, remains committed to raising awareness and involving all social strata in this crucial struggle for the future of the DRC
