On the night of Sunday to Monday, some forty soldiers lost their lives in this brutal attack, testifying to the merciless violence faced by the security forces deployed in the region.

The assault by Boko Haram jihadists on the Barkaram military base, located west of Ngouboua, not only resulted in the loss of human lives but also resulted in the capture of weapons and the destruction of vehicles equipped with heavy weapons.
