The challenges of the national election in DR Congo: The Rally of Political and Social Forces Acquired to Change (Rassop) denounces the electoral mismanagement of the Ceni
In a statement to the local press, the Rally of Political and Social Forces Acquired to Change (Rassop), led by Joseph Olenghankoy, expressed its indignation at the electoral mismanagement that the plenary assembly of the Independent National Electoral Commission wishes to impose. (Ceni). Rassop considers that the incompetence of the leaders of the Ceni leads the country into a chaotic situation.
The president of the electoral center of Rassop, Bafwafwa Mukangampala, declared during this declaration: “Rassop denounces this electoral mismanagement that the plenary assembly of the Ceni wants to impose on us with its president. […] We believe that this office of Mr. Kadima is bringing the country into trouble because it does not respect the law”.
Rassop has also seized the Constitutional Court to challenge this decision of the Ceni. Bafwafwa Mukangampala stressed the importance of justice in this case: “We believe that the justice we seized yesterday by filing our appeal before the Constitutional Court will help them leave the jungle to return in a humble way to the path of true democracy”.
This Rassop statement highlights the concerns and criticisms regarding the organization of the national election in DR Congo. Rassop accuses the Ceni authorities of partiality and exclusion, and underlines the risks of unrest and chaos if the situation is not rectified.
The DR Congo faces many political and socio-economic challenges, and the organization of credible and peaceful elections is essential to ensure the stability of the country. Congolese citizens expect transparent elections open to all political actors to express themselves and choose their representatives.
The decision of the Constitutional Court regarding Rassop’s appeal will be decisive for the future of the national election in DR Congo. In the meantime, the country remains in uncertainty, with the need to put in place measures to guarantee fair and equitable elections
