Crocodile on the loose in Lombo: Call for action to ensure the safety of residents

Fatshimetrie, October 22, 2024 – In the peaceful village of Lombo, nestled downstream of the majestic Congo River, a crocodile has spread terror among the inhabitants of the Kailo region, in the Maniema province, in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The presence of this wild animal is causing concern and helplessness among local citizens while the authorities are trying to find a solution to this growing problem.

For more than a week, the crocodile has been prowling the waters of the river, threatening the goats and other domestic animals of the villagers. Jean Suma Kalumbando, chief of the village of Lombo, is sounding the alarm and calling on the provincial government of Maniema, under the leadership of Mussa Kabwankubi Moise, to act quickly and eliminate this threat before it turns into a human tragedy.
