Launch of the 2024-2025 agricultural campaign in the DRC: a decisive step towards food prosperity

The agricultural campaign for the period 2024-2025 was officially launched during an emblematic ceremony at the Limete interchange in Kinshasa. Under the inspiring theme “Let’s go back to the fields”, this event marks the beginning of a new crucial phase for the agricultural sector in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The presence of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Interior and Customary Affairs, representing the Prime Minister, underlined the importance of this campaign and called on the various provinces to effectively use the seeds, tractors and rolling stock allocated to them. He also stressed the need to make these resources available to key players in the agricultural sector in their respective regions.

For his part, the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security stressed that this campaign is part of the vision of the Head of State for agricultural development and food security in the country. He launched a vibrant appeal to the entire population to invest in agriculture and thus contribute to the economic and social prosperity of the country.

The success of this agricultural campaign relies on several key mechanisms. First, it is essential to ensure an equitable distribution of agricultural resources to the different provinces, ensuring that they are used efficiently and sustainably. In addition, it is essential to encourage collaboration between stakeholders in the agricultural sector, including government institutions, civil society organizations and farmers themselves, in order to share good practices and maximize results.

Furthermore, it is crucial to promote innovation and the adoption of modern agricultural technologies to increase the productivity and sustainability of agricultural practices. By investing in research and development, the agricultural sector will be able to address current challenges and meet the growing food needs of the Congolese population.

Finally, raising awareness and training farmers on good agricultural practices, sustainable management of natural resources and adaptation to climate change is essential to ensure the long-term success of this agricultural campaign.

In conclusion, the launch of the 2024-2025 agricultural campaign in the Democratic Republic of Congo represents a crucial opportunity to stimulate the agricultural sector, ensure food security and contribute to the socio-economic development of the country. By implementing effective mechanisms and promoting collaboration between all stakeholders, it is possible to achieve significant and sustainable progress in the field of agriculture.
