At the prestigious Rebranding Africa 2024 Forum held in Belgium, Christian Lusakueno, the emblematic figure of Fatshimetrie, spoke on various current topics. At the heart of the debates, the case concerning journalist Patrick Lokala was discussed. Indeed, Christian Lusakueno was awarded the “Media Leadership” prize, highlighting his commitment to the development of Africa and the promotion of a professional press.
Faced with the accusations against him following the arrest of Patrick Lokala, Christian Lusakueno wanted to clarify the situation. He categorically denied any involvement in this case and stressed that he had filed a complaint in July, denouncing the unprofessional behavior of the journalist in question. For him, Patrick Lokala is far from acting like a real journalist, even calling him a “keyboard terrorist” for his defamatory practices. Despite the pressure and rumors, Christian Lusakueno remains firm and says he will not withdraw his complaint, hoping that the truth will come to light during a possible public trial.
Furthermore, the boss of Fatshimetrie also welcomed the election and installation of the new management team of the National Union of the Press of Congo (UNPC). This recognition of the legitimacy of professional bodies in the press sector demonstrates the importance given to ethics and professional conduct in journalism.
The Rebranding Africa Media Leadership Award trophy awarded to Christian Lusakueno thus recognizes his involvement and commitment to Africa and freedom of the press. As a fervent defender of journalistic excellence, he continues to uphold the values of professionalism and integrity within the African media universe.
