Breathing new life into Ngaliema’s youth: Sewing machines for a promising future

Kinshasa, October 20, 2024 – In a commendable initiative to provide new opportunities to young entrepreneurs in Ngaliema, a neighborhood in western Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a handover of sewing machines and sewing accessories took place recently. This event, organized by the national deputy of the Lukunga group of communes, Daida Moleka, is part of an effort to empower local youth.

In a speech marked by solidarity and commitment, Mrs. Moleka stressed the importance of this act for the future of the young beneficiary entrepreneurs: “The path to autonomy is not easy, but it is possible. Today, I want to remind you that you are not alone. These sewing materials are proof that we believe in you and in your ability to transform our community”. These words resonate as a vibrant encouragement to seize the opportunities that arise and transform them into concrete successes.

Indeed, in a context marked by unemployment and lack of opportunities, the acquisition of practical skills such as sewing can play a crucial role in creating businesses and developing dignified and prosperous lives. The sewing machines given to the young people of Ngaliema are not only tools, but also symbols of a new chance, an open door to autonomy and economic independence.

Through this action, National Deputy Daida Moleka demonstrates her commitment to Congolese youth and her desire to actively support their development. Young people, now equipped to start their own business, will have the opportunity to not only provide for their needs, but also to become job creators for other members of their community.

This gesture of solidarity and support, beyond the simple distribution of materials, underlines the importance of commitment, hard work, perseverance and solidarity between members of the same community. By sharing the skills acquired, supporting each other and working together, these young entrepreneurs will not only be able to transform their own reality, but also actively contribute to the development of their environment.

In conclusion, this handover of sewing machines to the youth of Ngaliema is a significant step towards the economic and social empowerment of young Congolese people. It is a call for creativity, innovation and solidarity, essential values for building a better future for all. Let us hope that these young people, with their determination and commitment, will seize this opportunity and make it a springboard towards a prosperous and fulfilling future for themselves and their community.
