Promoting local Congolese treasures for sustainable economic growth

It is essential to recognize and promote local Congolese products, not only for their exceptional quality, but also for the economic benefits they can bring to the Democratic Republic of Congo. The recent Entrepreneurship Forum for Small and Medium Enterprises in Malabo provided an ideal platform to highlight these national treasures.

The intervention of the Deputy Director General of the National Agency for the Promotion of Exports (Anapex), Henry Gerendawele, at this event highlighted the importance of Congolese flagship products such as coffee, cocoa, palm oil and rubber. These high-quality products have generated great interest among the community present in Malabo.

Furthermore, the diversification of local products, such as honey, ginger, tea and others, demonstrates the potential for growth and expansion of Congolese exports. These products, highlighted at the Anapex stand during the forum, demonstrated the richness and variety of resources that the DRC can offer its trading partners.

It is essential to seize the opportunity offered by this forum to intensify trade within the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS). The DRC has an abundance of quality products that can not only benefit its citizens, but also contribute to the economic development of the entire region.

The creation of Anapex in 2018 was a crucial step in promoting Congolese exports. This agency plays a key role in promoting local products of agricultural, agro-industrial, industrial and artisanal origin, while seeking to broaden the DRC’s commercial horizons internationally. This strategic approach is essential to position the DRC as a major player in regional and global trade.

In conclusion, the promotion of local Congolese products represents an invaluable opportunity to strengthen trade and stimulate economic growth in the Democratic Republic of Congo. By highlighting the wealth and diversity of its resources, the DRC can assert itself as a key player on the international scene, while contributing to the sustainable development of the region.
