Opening up Kasaï-Central: the urgent call from economic operators for a prosperous future

On this day of October 10, in the heart of the Kasai-Central province, a worrying problem emerged, carried by the voices of local economic operators. These key players in the regional economy expressed their concerns about the growing isolation of their province, jeopardizing their activities and the commercial dynamics of the region.

The situation described by these economic operators is alarming: the lack of effective exit routes hinders the movement of goods and merchandise to Kananga, the provincial capital. Traders are thus faced with a real logistical headache, unable to transport their products due to the deplorable state of the roads and transport infrastructure, in particular the railway which is also proving to be faulty. This situation has already forced some major suppliers to stop their activities and look for other more favorable horizons.

Faced with these poignant testimonies, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Daniel Mukoko Samba, on a visit to the region, committed to finding concrete solutions to effectively and sustainably connect Kasaï-Central to the rest of the country. Aware of the economic challenges and potential of this province, the Government has therefore set itself the priority objective of opening up the region, facilitating trade and stimulating local economic recovery.

This situation is of concern well beyond the borders of Kasaï-Central; it raises essential questions about regional planning, infrastructure development and accessibility to the different regions of the country. It highlights the need to invest in means of communication and transport to promote the economic and social development of landlocked territories.

Given this observation, it is imperative that the competent authorities take adequate and sustainable measures to overcome this situation of isolation and guarantee the harmonious development of all the provinces of the country. Economic operators in Kasaï-Central are launching an urgent call for action and national solidarity to overcome these obstacles and build together a prosperous and inclusive future for all.
