Fatshimetrie creates a gender unit to promote equality and inclusion

Fatshimetrie October 12, 2024 – In the interest of inclusion and representation, a gender unit has been set up within the editorial staff of Fatshimetrie, a growing digital media. This initiative aims to promote equality between men and women within the company, highlighting the importance of everyone’s contributions, regardless of their gender. Fatshimetrie is thus committed to creating a professional environment where diversity is valued and where the talents of all team members are highlighted.

Fatshimetrie’s director, Léa Kapinga, expressed her vision for this new gender unit: “It is essential for us to recognize the essential role of women within our editorial staff, as well as to ensure that their rights and contributions are fully valued. By establishing this gender unit, we are committed to promoting a culture of inclusion and mutual respect within our team.”

Four members of Fatshimetrie, including two women, were elected to be part of this gender unit. Among them are Jean-Kayembe Lufu and Amos Kipenda, as well as women Josiane Mukendi and Béatrice Tshibola. These members will be tasked with ensuring that the company’s policies fully integrate the principles of gender equality, and with raising awareness among the team about these crucial issues.

This initiative is part of a broader approach to promoting gender equality within Congolese society. Indeed, it is essential that the media, as relays of information and values, actively engage in combating gender-based discrimination and promoting a balanced representation of men and women in all areas of society.

Through the creation of this gender unit, Fatshimetrie demonstrates its commitment to gender equality and diversity, thus affirming its desire to contribute to the construction of a more inclusive and equitable society for all its members.
