Strengthening mobility in the senatorial administration of the DRC

Fatshimetrie, October 11, 2024 – The President of the Senate of the Democratic Republic of Congo recently held a ceremony at the Palais du Peuple, during which new buses were handed over to the Senate administration. This initiative aims to strengthen the administration’s vehicle fleet and improve the mobility of administrative staff.

During this event, the President of the Senate, Jean Michel Sama Lukonde Kyenge, stressed the importance of this contribution in terms of mobility. He expressed his wish that these new vehicles be used optimally to facilitate the travel of administrative staff and ensure the smooth running of the Senate administration.

The Secretary General of the Senate also welcomed this initiative, saying that it reflects the vision of President Sama Lukonde’s office regarding the Senate administration. He stressed that these new buses will help solve the mobility problems encountered by Senate agents and civil servants, by allowing them to travel to work in good conditions and respect service schedules.

In the interest of collaboration and efficiency, President Sama Lukonde met with members of the extended management committee of the Senate administration to discuss the management challenges of this institution. He stressed the importance of close collaboration between the various structures of the upper house of Parliament in order to ensure the proper functioning of the institution and meet the needs of its administrative staff.

Furthermore, aware of the challenges faced by the administrative staff of the Chamber of Elders, the President of the Senate conducted a tour of the premises housing the various departments of the administration. This approach aims to modernize the infrastructure and improve the working conditions of the agents, in line with the vision of the Head of State, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, who places people at the center of all concerns.

In conclusion, the delivery of these new buses and the commitment of President Sama Lukonde to close collaboration and improved working conditions demonstrate the Senate’s desire to strengthen its operations and offer a better working environment to its administrative staff.
