Challenges and determination: Matthieu Tovo, key player in sports development in Lukunga

Fatshimetrie, October 10, 2024 – The sports scene of the Lukunga Urban Agreement in Kinshasa is currently facing major challenges that are hampering its development. Indeed, the president of the Lukunga Urban Football Agreement, Matthieu Tovo, recently highlighted that the lack of adequate infrastructure and persistent insecurity are the main obstacles to the proper organization and development of football in the region.

According to Matthieu Tovo, Eufkin-Lukunga is facing major difficulties in terms of sports infrastructure and security, which is significantly hampering the normal running of the championship. The various available grounds, such as La Cour, Mimosas, Lukunga, Badiadingi and STP, are insufficient to meet the requirements of the sports authorities and ensure the smooth running of matches. This situation makes it difficult to meet the deadlines set by the country’s sports authorities, thus compromising the organization of competitions.

Despite Matthieu Tovo’s efforts to combat acts of vandalism by supporters of local clubs, the results remain mixed. The latter, with his experience and commitment as a sports manager, is doing everything he can to find effective solutions to resolve these issues. His exceptional career, marked by responsibilities as executive secretary within the Cercle de football des jeunes de la commune de Ngaliema, is a testament to his dedication to the development of sport.

Apart from his professional commitment, Matthieu Tovo also has a wealth of experience as a football player. Having played for prestigious clubs such as FC Pharmagros, AS Nika and AS V.Club, he has combined talent and commitment throughout his career. His career, starting at school with FC Pharmagros in Bandalungwa, then continuing in Kisangani with AS Nika, demonstrates his unwavering passion for football and his commitment to the development of local talent.

In short, Matthieu Tovo’s hard work and determination, as well as his varied experience and expertise in the field of football, make him a key player in the development of sport in the Lukunga region. Despite the challenges encountered, his perseverance and commitment make him an inspiring leader who works tirelessly to improve the conditions for practicing sport and promote the development of young talents.
