Road accident in Kinshasa: Students from “Le Bleu” College injured in a dramatic collision

Fatshimétrie, Kinshasa News: Students from Collège “Le Bleu” injured in a road accident

A dramatic road accident shook the city of Kinshasa on Monday, leaving several students from Collège “Le Bleu” seriously injured. According to information gathered by Fatshimétrie, the accident occurred on National Road No. 1 (RN1) near Matadi Mayo, in the commune of Mont-Ngafula.

The reported facts indicate that a trailer truck coming from Kongo Central suffered a brake failure, which led to a collision with a school bus transporting students from Collège “Le Bleu”. Fortunately, no deaths were reported, but several students and the bus driver were seriously injured in the incident.

Faced with this tragedy, local authorities responded by taking measures to prevent future road accidents. Indeed, the provincial government of Kinshasa recently decided to limit the access of heavy goods vehicles in the city, by instituting a system of entry based on the order of arrival. This new regulation stipulates that only fifteen vehicles of 20 tons or more will be authorized to enter the capital every three hours, from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

These measures aim to guarantee the safety of road users and to limit the risks of accidents such as the one that occurred in Matadi Mayo. Local officials are mobilized to enforce these directives and ensure that traffic in the city of Kinshasa takes place in a safe and orderly manner.

In conclusion, this traffic accident is a cruel reminder of the need for constant vigilance on our roads. The safety of users, especially that of students, must be an absolute priority for all stakeholders involved in road traffic management. Fatshimétrie will continue to closely monitor the development of the situation and relay any useful information to its readers.
