Fatshimetrie, October 7, 2024 – The Democratic Republic of Congo is turning to agriculture to shape its future. An inspiring video encourages citizens to get back into the fields, on the eve of the launch of the 2024-2025 agricultural campaign, under the evocative slogan: “Let’s go back to the fields”. This initiative aims to transform the agricultural landscape to create jobs, guarantee healthy food, and build a sustainable future for generations to come.
The call is clear: agriculture is the key to the development of the DRC. By prioritizing land over subsoil, the authorities are encouraging the population to fully invest in this vital sector. This approach is part of a vision of hope and progress, aimed at offering the Congolese new opportunities, while preserving the country’s natural resources.
Under the theme “Let’s go back to the fields”, the government is launching a nationwide awareness campaign. Hard-hitting commercials, broadcast in the four national languages, aim to mobilize citizens around this common cause. The objective is clear: to revolutionize the agricultural sector, thanks to the commitment of each and every one.
This campaign is placed under the high patronage of the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, and benefits from the support of the Prime Minister, Judith Suminwa Tuluka, as well as the Minister of State in charge of Agriculture, Grégoire Mutshail Mutomb. Together, they have developed a detailed roadmap, which will soon be made public in order to guide the actions of each in this collective approach.
By appealing to the patriotic spirit of the Congolese, this initiative promises to transform the agricultural landscape and strengthen food self-sufficiency. By banking on the potential of the land and the determination of its population, the DRC is embarking on the path to a bright future, where agriculture occupies a central place in the construction of a prosperous and balanced society.
Thus, “Let’s go back to the fields” becomes the rallying cry of a nation determined to make agriculture the pillar of its development. It is by collectively cultivating this fertile land that the Democratic Republic of Congo will be able to reap the fruits of a better future for all its citizens.
