“Government survey on the business climate in the DRC: the results and future actions to improve the economic environment”

Improving the business climate in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is a priority for the current government. To this end, a survey by the National Barometer of the Business Climate (BNCA) was carried out on June 6 under the aegis of the President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi. The results were presented at the 101st meeting of the Council of Ministers on June 9.

The report of this survey offers an overview of the economic environment experienced by economic operators in contact with the public administration and its facilitators. Through a public-private dialogue, each member of the government must indulge in exchanges of frank dialogue to meet the challenge of improving the business climate. The objective is to attract and retain the investments necessary for the socio-economic development of the country.

Although economic operators have expressed a positive assessment of their performance in the current economic climate, the President of the Republic encourages the government to improve the country’s overall score. He asked the Prime Minister to accelerate the implementation of the Business Climate Emergency Plan, which should include political, technical and human reforms in order to achieve the necessary changes by the end of the year.

As part of the implementation of this plan, the President of the Republic also insisted on the need to set up a system for handling and monitoring the recommendations made during exchanges between the stakeholders during the public dialogue. -private.

Improving the business climate in the DRC is crucial to attracting and retaining the investments necessary for the socio-economic development of the country. This is a daunting challenge that requires joint action by all stakeholders, both public and private.
