Political leadership in Nigeria is a hot topic that has generated heated debates among the country’s youth. Recently, the All Political Parties National Youth Leaders Forum of Nigeria (ANPLFN) appealed to President Bola Tinubu to tackle head-on the challenges facing the country.
Addressing a press conference in Abuja, the Chairman of ANPLFN, Mr. Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu, expressed his unwavering support for Nigerian youths, encouraging them to outdo their predecessors and strive for a better future. He commended the achievements of previous generations who worked for the country’s independence, while highlighting the current challenges facing the youths.
Chukwu acknowledged President Tinubu’s efforts to mitigate the challenges, including through social programmes and increases in the minimum wage. However, he stressed that despite these commendable initiatives, the situation remains precarious.
The issue of poverty and insecurity is at the heart of the concerns of Nigerian youth, who fear the adverse consequences on national security and social stability. Chukwu called for vigorous action to address these challenges, warning of the risk of hunger-induced food crises.
He also expressed gratitude for the patience and resilience of Nigerian youth, encouraging them to remain calm while giving President Tinubu the time needed to act effectively.
This stance by Nigeria’s political youth is a testament to their commitment to a better future for the country. It is now up to President Bola Tinubu to rise to this challenge and implement concrete measures to improve the living conditions of the youth and the population at large.
