RN 17/RN 9 rehabilitation works in Bandundu-Ville: A new era for Congolese roads
The rehabilitation of road infrastructure is of paramount importance for the development of a country. It is with this in mind that the rehabilitation works of the RN 17/RN 9 were launched in Bandundu-Ville, in the presence of the Vice-Governor of Kwilu, Félicien Kiway. This initiative is part of a vast local development program launched by the Congolese government.
The rehabilitation works of the RN 17/RN 9 will considerably improve the quality of the road, from Bandundu-Ville to the capital of the territory of Bagata. They will consist of different stages, such as brush clearing and clearing of the road bed, purging of sloughs, desilting of the roadway, and many more. The objective is to guarantee optimal traffic conditions for users and to facilitate trade.
Financed by the public treasury, the work will be carried out by the Congolese company “Adi construction”, under the supervision of the Technical Control Office and the monitoring of the Roads Office. This major project should be completed within ten months, and its implementation will require the active involvement of the beneficiary population.
Indeed, the rehabilitation of the RN 17/RN 9 is of major economic importance for the region. Once the works are completed, this road will allow a better circulation of agricultural products from Bagata to Bandundu, as well as manufactured products from Bandundu to the territory of Bagata. It will thus contribute to the development of trade and economic growth in the region.
The Vice-Governor of Kwilu, Félicien Kiway, invited the beneficiary population to actively support the works and to be vigilant to prevent any act of nuisance that could compromise their smooth running. It is essential that the population and the politico-administrative authorities of the region fully commit themselves to this project, in order to ensure its success and maximize its positive spin-offs.
The rehabilitation of the RN 17/RN 9 in Bandundu-Ville thus marks the beginning of a new era for Congolese roads. This work will improve the quality of road infrastructure, thereby promoting the region’s economic and social development. This is an important step towards better connectivity and greater mobility for the inhabitants of Bandundu and the territory of Bagata
