Kinshasa, September 24, 2024 – In Kinshasa, young people from the Democratic Republic of Congo benefit from vocational training scholarships, offered by Moroccan cooperation. These training opportunities offer young Congolese the opportunity to acquire essential skills for their professional future. During a meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Judith Suminwa stressed the importance of vocational training in the development of quality youth.
This initiative, the result of fruitful cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the DRC, is a significant step towards creating employment opportunities for young people. The Prime Minister encouraged the beneficiaries of these scholarships to value the training they will receive in Morocco and to return to their country once their studies are completed. This approach is part of the President of the Republic’s desire to support dynamic and competent youth.
The Minister of Vocational Training, Marc Ekila, praised the Prime Minister’s commitment to vocational training, stressing its importance for the integration of young people into the job market. He also mentioned other upcoming scholarship opportunities, demonstrating the government’s commitment to Congolese youth.
The young beneficiaries of these scholarships were selected from disadvantaged neighborhoods in Kinshasa, such as Pakadjuma and Terre Jaune. Thanks to organizations such as the “Kalonji and La Grâce” foundations, these young people were able to follow preparatory training before benefiting from these opportunities offered by Moroccan cooperation.
Yvette Tshanda, one of the scholarship recipients, testified to the importance of vocational training for the empowerment of young people in society. She encouraged other young people to follow her example and engage in training that will allow them to flourish and contribute significantly to the development of their country.
Beyond the individual aspect, investment in vocational training is part of a broader vision of economic and social development. By supporting the training of young people and strengthening vocational training and trade apprenticeship centers, the government contributes to the eradication of delinquency and youth unemployment.
In conclusion, these vocational training scholarships offered to young Congolese by Moroccan cooperation constitute an important step towards the creation of a qualified youth committed to the development of their country. It is thanks to such initiatives that the future of the DRC can be viewed with optimism, and that young people will be able to actively contribute to the construction of a strong and prosperous nation.
