Fatshimetrie, September 23, 2024 – The Higher Institute of Health Sciences (ISSS) of the Red Cross of Bandundu wrote a new page in its history this Monday, during the inauguration of its brand new administrative building. This solemn event took place in the presence of the interim governor of the province, Félicien Kiway, thus underlining the importance and value given to higher and university education in the region.
The Director General of ISSS/Bandundu, Mr. Léon Mudubu, emphasized the remarkable work of the management committee in place for two years, in order to give new impetus to the higher and university education sector. This new building, measuring 17 meters long and 7 meters wide, is a testament to the efforts made to improve the infrastructure dedicated to the training of health professionals.
The ISSS/Bandundu has set itself the mission of educating and preparing specialized health science executives, imbued with the humanitarian values dear to the Red Cross. This higher medical education center, inaugurated on October 15, 2024, aims to train professionals capable of providing quality care to vulnerable people in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In parallel with this inauguration, Governor Kiway laid the foundation stone of a future building that will house the auditoriums of the ISSS of the Red Cross in Bandundu. This initiative is part of a process of continuous development of the institute and its reception capacities, with a view to meeting the growing needs in terms of academic training in health.
Thus, the inauguration of this administrative building marks a significant step in the evolution of the ISSS of the Red Cross, reinforcing its commitment to education and scientific research in the field of health in the DRC. This promising initiative illustrates the institute’s desire to position itself as a major player in medical training in the Bandundu region, thus contributing to the improvement of health services and the well-being of local populations.
