The police have arrested a 35-year-old man, Godwin Femi, for allegedly molesting his neighbour’s 13-year-old daughter. According to the police spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Femi’s arrest followed a complaint filed by Samuel, the girl’s father, against the accused. The father said Femi had been forcibly having sexual intercourse with his daughter since June. He explained that his daughter had withdrawn N20,000 from his account using his ATM card without his consent. When the missing phone was found in the girl’s possession, she confessed that Femi had given it to her. Fearing for her life, she handed over the N20,000 to the suspect.
Since the suspect confessed to being in a romantic relationship with the victim, he was quickly arraigned for rape. This heinous crime was promptly dealt with by the Gender Division of the Lagos State Police Force.
