**Strengthening access to education for a better society**
In a commendable initiative aimed at improving children’s learning conditions and promoting basic education in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the National Service recently handed over a batch of 200 desks to the Yolo-Nord Primary School 1 and 2, located in the Kalamu commune in Kinshasa. This action, carried out under the directives of the Head of State Félix Tshisekedi, embodies a strong political will to guarantee an educational environment conducive to the development of future Congolese citizens.
The handing over of the desks by the Commander of the National Service, Mr. Jean-Pierre Kasongo Kabwik, is a symbolic but crucial gesture for the Ep 1 and 2 Yolo-Nord school. Indeed, as General Kasongo Kabwik pointed out, the learning environment has a significant impact on the academic success of children. Adequate classroom conditions promote intellectual development and student performance. Thus, investment in educational infrastructure is an essential pillar to ensure the quality of education and equal opportunities for all.
The school principal, Ms. Kitumbu Mélanie, expressed her gratitude to the National Service for this valuable contribution. She stressed the importance of creating an environment conducive to learning, recalling that education is an essential pillar of a country’s socio-economic development. In welcoming the Head of State’s commitment to free primary education, Ms. Kitumbu highlighted the crucial role of education in building a more just and prosperous society.
The history of the Yolo-Nord Primary School 1 and 2, founded in 1954, bears witness to the evolution of education in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Born out of a desire to offer secular and inclusive education, this school symbolizes the aspiration for a harmonious and egalitarian society. The delivery of the benches by the National Service is part of this tradition of access to education for all, and contributes to perpetuating the legacy of secular education initiated by the pioneers of education in Congo.
In conclusion, this action of the National Service in favor of the primary school 1 and 2 Yolo-Nord is a concrete illustration of the commitment of the Congolese authorities to basic education. By investing in school infrastructure and promoting a quality learning environment, the government demonstrates its desire to build a more educated, more equitable and more prosperous society for all. These benches are not only furniture, but symbols of hope and social transformation, paving the way for a better future for the children of Yolo-Nord and throughout Congo.
