Decisive meeting between Jean-Jacques Purusi and the political parties of South Kivu: Clarifications and persistent tensions

**Decisive meeting between Jean-Jacques Purusi and South Kivu political parties following controversial appointments**

In a tense political context, the Governor of South Kivu, Jean-Jacques Purusi Sadiki, took the initiative to bring together the leaders of the political parties that are members of the Union Sacrée. This meeting follows controversial appointments that have provoked demonstrations within certain political parties, highlighting tensions within the region.

The objective of the meeting was to clarify the appointment process that led to these reactions. Jean-Jacques Purusi Sadiki took the floor to explain that the appointments were made taking into account the representativeness of the territories and political parties present in the Provincial Assembly. He particularly stressed the importance of promoting cohesion and the principle of solidarity, while respecting the constitutional priorities assigned to the parties represented in the Provincial Assembly.

The meeting took place in a climate of listening and dialogue, with a promise from the governor to examine the consideration of parties not represented by elected officials in future appointments. However, some members of the political parties still seem skeptical about Jean-Jacques Purusi Sadiki’s commitment, stating that he has not really changed his position on previous appointments, the source of current tensions.

For his part, the head of the provincial executive called on political parties with provincial deputies to always consult their hierarchy before undertaking actions that could harm the social and political cohesion of the region. He also encouraged them to actively contribute to provincial management with a view to the development of the region.

Despite Jean-Jacques Purusi Sadiki’s attempts to ease tensions and promote unity within the Sacred Union, the protest persists. Strong statements have been issued, notably by the UDPS Parliamentary Group and allies as well as the Federal Presidents of the UDPS in South Kivu, demanding a withdrawal of the decisions deemed scandalous within 48 hours.

The situation therefore remains tense within the Union Sacrée, with mixed expectations regarding a peaceful resolution of disagreements between the different political parties. The ability of Jean-Jacques Purusi Sadiki to establish a climate of trust and collaboration between the political actors in the region therefore remains an open question.

Ultimately, the main issue lies in the ability of all the actors concerned to work together for the well-being and development of South Kivu, by overcoming political differences in favor of the common interest. The path to resolving current political tensions therefore involves constructive dialogue and a common desire to find concerted solutions for the future of the region.
